Message From the Rabbi
Go South young man!!! Well not exactly, but the Gemara (Bava Basra 25b) advises us "One who yearns for wisdom should turn to the South." The Gemara is actually discussing the proper stance during davening but I would suggest a simple reading. Do you want to make a wise move? Go South to Deerfield Beach and your prayers will be answered!
It gives me great pleasure to applaud your decision to consider a move to south Florida and look forward to welcoming you in the near future to our Young Israel of Deerfield Beach community. Our Shul is home to various minyamin throughout the year to accomodate everyone. YIDB is the home of much Torah learning. We offer many daily shiurim for men and women as well as hosting outstanding scholars in residence throughout the year. Please familiarize yourself with the schedules to take advantage of these opportunities. There are many other Shul centered organizations such as Sisterhood, Amit and Emunah. I urge you to participate in as many of the opportunities as you can. A new fresh voice is always welcome.
South Florida is home to a vibrant Jewish life spiritually and materially. Activities at the Century Village Clubhouse will keep you busy in between davening and shiurim and you will not go hungry with the plethora of kosher eateries in our area.
On behalf of the Rebbetzin and myself, welcome to our community and may our future association be long and mutually beneficial with good health and nachas from everyone.
B'hatzlacha
Rabbi Yisroel Edelm
